Volcanic landscapes and year-round sunshine

Introducing Lanzarote

A striking Canary Island of fire mountains, black-sand beaches and whitewashed villages, warm enough for a holiday in any season.

Lanzarote's volcanic landscapes feel unlike anywhere else in Europe. Timanfaya National Park's 'fire mountains', the vineyards of La Geria and low white villages with green and blue shutters give the island a distinctive look. The whole island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Much of that character comes from the artist and architect César Manrique, who campaigned to protect the island from high-rise development. Pair that with warm winter sunshine and calm southern beaches, and it is a favourite for both winter sun and family summers.
